UNITS & PRICING

Q: If the market value of gold is higher than that of platinum, why do the platinum items cost more than the gold items?

A: Gold products are only 58% pure gold in 14K items or 75% pure gold in 18K, while platinum items are 95% pure platinum. Additionally, platinum is more dense than gold, making the same size item weigh significantly more in platinum than in gold.

 

Q: Do you sell your items by weight?

A: At Herschlag, all of our products are sold per piece with the exception of cut wire and solder, both of which are sold by DWT.

 

Q: Are your earrings and cufflinks priced and sold in pairs or per piece?

A: All of our items are sold by single piece, so be sure to specify "2 pieces" if you'd like a pair.


SHIPPING & RETURNS

Q: Is there a minimum requirement for shipping?

A: Yes, orders must come to a minimum of $25.00 (before shipping) in order for us to ship them.

 

Q: What is your lead time?

A: We will try to ship any order placed by 3:00 PM local time (1:00 PM on Fridays) the same day. Any order placed after 3:00 PM will be shipped the following business day. If an item is not in stock we will ship the pieces which are in stock and backorder the others, unless otherwise instructed by the customer.

 

Q: Can I track my order?

A: Tracking information is provided upon request. Call or email us and we will give you the info you need to see the status of your shipment.

 

Q: What is your general return policy?

A: Items may be returned for store credit only. Most items (unused) will be accepted back within 7 business days.

B: The exceptions to our return policy are special order items, bangles, beads, cut chains, earrings, hollow charms, lockets, solder, wire and items with a spring mechanism. All of these items are final sale.

 

Q: What is your return policy for damaged or defective merchandise?

A: All damaged or defective merchandise will be accepted back within 10 business days of the invoice date if accompanied by a copy of the invoice (or invoice number and date).


ORDERING & MERCHANDISE

Q: How do your style numbers work?

A: The "quality" code is the last letter or letters of the style number. Quality codes used at Herschlag are:

Y=14K Yellow, W=14K White, E=18K Yellow, I=18K White, L=Platinum, S=Sterling Silver, F=Gold Filled, H=White Gold Filled, G=Gold Plated, N=Nickel Plated, YT=14K Two-Tone, ET=18K Two-Tone, YP=14K Rose Gold, EP=18K Rose Gold.

 

Q: If an item is out of stock, can I still order it?

A: Yes. If an item is marked "Out Of Stock", you will still be able to order it. If ordered, we will ship the item out to you as soon as it is back in stock or inform you when it is ready for pickup if you prefer. Restocking an item may take anywhere from two to six weeks.

 

Q: If an item is marked online as discontinued, can I still order it?

A: If an item is in stock you can order up to the quantity that we have in stock.

 

Q: Can I special order an item?

A: Many items can be special ordered at a minimum quantity, which varies by item. A deposit must be paid before the order is processed, and all special order items are final sale. Special orders need to be confirmed and we would then notify you of the estimated shipping date & cost.

 

Q: Which alloys do you use in your Platinum items?

A: The most common alloys in our platinum items are cobalt, iridium, and ruthenium. As far as which is used in a particular item? Call or email us and we'll be happy to answer your specific questions.

 

Q: Do you carry watch bands or batteries?

A: Although in the pre-internet days "Herschlag" was the highlighted listing in the yellow pages under watchbands, we no longer carry these items.

 

Q: Do you carry Eraser Backs (silicone-covered earring nuts)?

A: Yes, we do. Eraser backs are available in three sizes in 18K Yellow, White and some in Pink Gold. (Style# FN55, FN56 & FN57)

 

Q: Do you carry Palladium?

A: We do not carry any items in Palladium.

 

Q: From where do you get your jewelry parts?

A: Our parts are manufactured in various places all over the globe, including but not limited to Europe, Japan, Vietnam, Israel, as well as several places in the US of A.

 

Q: How long does a Back Order take?

A: Many of our items will arrive in our showroom within seven to ten business days. However, being that our merchandise is ordered from all over the world, it may take several weeks for some items to be restocked. For information regarding the Back Order time for a specific item or items, please call or email us and we'll be happy to answer your questions.


ACCOUNTS & PAYMENTS

Q: Do you sell on credit?

A: All first rated JBT accounts will be allowed a credit limit of $500 on the first order. All accounts will be required to submit at least three trade references to establish an open account. We may require prepayment or ship your order COD if credit is not established, and we reserve the right to hold any shipment if an account balance is past due. A late payment fee of 1.5% per month will be added to past due accounts.

 

Q: Can I purchase from your site or store without opening an account?

A: As a wholesaler, we sell only to certified retailers. For that reason, we require our customers to register and create an account, submitting a completed Resale Certificate (which we will email to you as soon as you submit your registration, or you may download it from the "Forms" page on our website). Once this form is submitted containing a valid Tax ID number, your account will be activated and we're in business!

 

Q: Do you accept all major credit cards?

A: We accept Visa®, Discover® and MasterCard® for all purchases over $25.00. American Express® is accepted for orders over $250.


SPECIAL SERVICES

Q: Do you do any kind of soldering work?

A: At Herschlag Findings we simply supply the parts for your jewelers to work their magic.

 

Q: When I purchase a ring in your store, can I get the size adjusted?

A: Generally, yes. We sell our rings in whole sizes and we'd be happy to increase the size of the ring which you are purchasing. Stretching may not be an option, however, with many of our cast rings. All stretched rings are final sale.
